💬 Friday Thread: What Books Make the Perfect Beach Read?
Hello!
As a reminder, today is the last official Friday Thread coming as a newsletter. Starting July 1 private discussions about books and reading will take place in the Chat, will be spontaneous, and can be started by anyone not just me.
Ok, let’s talk beach reads! It’s that time of the year when there’s tons of lists floating around about the “best beach reads” and I for one love browsing all those lists. In the past, I think there were stereotypes that beach reads had to be romances or light and fluffy fiction. Not so much anymore.
Beach read is one of those terms that seems to mean something different to every reader. For some it is a breezy romance. For others it’s a messy family drama, a fast-paced thriller, a sweeping historical novel, or simply the book they can't put down while sitting in the sun. I don't think there's one right definition—which is exactly why I thought this week's question would be fun.
A beach read for me is in fact any book I can’t put down while reading at the beach, by the pool or lake, or on my patio when (preferably) the sun is shining:)
Feel free to share your beach read definition along with what books would make your perfect beach read list!
