It's Book Talk: Behind the Scenes 🎙️
Hello!
Welcome to the first episode of It’s Book Talk: Behind the Scenes, a new podcast series for paid subscribers.
When I mentioned recently that I planned to get back on the mic, this is one of the ways I envisioned doing it. I wanted to get back to audio episodes because those have always felt like they’re more personal and I'm having a conversation with you. First, though, thank you for supporting It’s Book Talk and for your patience while I stepped away from podcasting to complete my book coaching certification. I’m excited for the podcast episodes I have planned!
The idea behind this series is simple. I think of it as the conversation we’d have if we met for coffee—or a glass of wine—and started talking about books. I’ll share the books I didn’t finish (and why), the scoop on the books I’m currently reading before anyone else hears about them, upcoming releases I’m excited about, readerly rabbit holes I’ve fallen down, publishing news, products I’m loving (or not), and whatever else feels worth chatting about that month. In other words, it’s the unfiltered, behind-the-scenes version of my reading life.
As always, you’ll find photos and links to books and products I mention below in the written post.
Today I’m starting with coffee in hand and a very disappointing DNF of one of my most anticipated fall releases, the current read I predict will be 5 stars, a sneak peek of a 2027 book I just discovered (get those preorders or library holds in!) and more…
Let’s get to it.
