💬 Friday Thread: What Books Are On Your Summer Reading List?

Hello!

Summer reading is perhaps my favorite reading season. Inevitably I find myself gravitating to stories that lend themselves to one sit reads like thrillers, literary stories set internationally, translated fiction, and to niche it down even more— books with luxury hotel settings and/or set “on the coast." The coast being absolutely any beach or body of water where people (preferably in messy families or complicated love/friendship relationships) convene while spending time on the beach, at the lake, at the country club that’s on the lake or at the beach….you get the idea. You will see all of these elements in the twenty books from my summer reading list that I’m sharing below!

So last night I did something I rarely do….I made a written summer tbr list. As many of you know I’m a mood reader so I don’t make a tbr because as soon as I tell myself I have to read something this month, I immediately don’t want to. But I’ve realized there are so many books that are either releasing this summer or have been on my summer tbr repeatedly year after year that I needed to actually see them listed so I can remember I want to read them.

Friends, there are currently 61 books (and counting) on my summer reading list! I know I won’t be able to read all of these titles, but I love seeing them all in one place and knowing I won’t forget them. And that I don’t have to think too long about what to read next because I can easily pick a title off this list. Below, I’ll be sharing twenty books off of my summer reading list—10 that have already been published and 10 of my most anticipated upcoming summer releases.
